GOOD MANNERS - Essay - by J.C. Hill - Notes - SUMMARY

GOOD MANNERS
                                                                                                  --         JC Hill
JC Hill was a famous writer. He has written a great deal about good manners. The essay ‘Good Manners’ is extracted from his work ‘An Introduction to Citizenship.’
Hill records thoughts on the life of human beings and importance of relationships. Human beings are fragile beings who have come to live in this dangerous world. During our short stay here, we should help the world as much as we can.
Good manners come from sympathy with others and understanding our own limitations. Unfortunately, the youth today are unable to communicate properly. They are poor listeners. They are careless, proud and foolish. They are angry and restless. They should be taught discipline, courtesy and concern for elders. We are humble little people who shall not pass this way again. Hence, postponing things for another day will not do.
