LET ME NOT TO THE MARRIAGE
OF TRUE MINDS
-

“Let Me Not to the Marriage of True Minds” is a sonnet
written by William Shakespeare. In this
poem, Shakespeare speaks about constancy in love. The poet does not tolerate
any obstacles in the course of true love.
According to Shakespeare, love should not alter when it finds
alteration. It should not bend when
troubles challenge. Love should not
shake before tempests. It is an
ever-mixed mark. Love guides our
lives. It serves like a light to the
wandering boats.
Love is not fooled by time. Time can fade the rosy lips and tender
cheeks. Love does not change within
hours or weeks. It stands firm to the
edge of the doom. The poem ends with
Shakespeare’s challenge that, if anyone proves him wrong he will stop writing
and accepts that no one (man) ever left.
