I Have a Dream

“I
have a Dream” is a speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. in America. This
speech was given on the occasion of centenary celebrations of the Emancipation
Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln. In this speech, King expresses his anquish
over the miserable state of his fellow black Americans.
In
his speech, King appeals for liberty, equality and fraternity to the
blacks. He expresses concern over
declining human values. He criticizes
the police brutalities on the innocent blacks.
He asks his blacks to fight for their rights in non-violent
methods.
King is positive and quite optimistic
about the future of his country men. His dream is to see the children of blacks
and whites living together in harmony, with equal rights and mutual respect. He
reaffirms his commitment to peace and non-violence to realize his eternal
dream.
