Ode
to Autumn
-John
Keats
‘Ode to
Autumn’ was written by John Keats. In this poem, the poet celebrates the
special qualities of the season Autumn.
Keats
describes Autumn as a season of mists and fruitfulness. He calls it a close friend of the Sun. The
Sun and Autumn plan together to provide more fruits, flowers and ripeness. The
honey is still available to the bees.
Keats
personified Autumn in different moods.
Autumn is shown as a harvester carelessly sitting on a granary floor.
Autumn appears like a person sleeping in the field. Autumn is seen as a gleaner
carrying heavy load of grains. Finally,
the season is shown as a person standing patiently by the side of a Cider
press.
